We’re looking for someone with the vision to lead great products. Someone who can understand the needs and pains of our customers and come up with the best solutions in the form of well-polished and powerful products. And someone who can own a product from A to Z with enthusiasm and passion.
We work with the top mobile app developers in the world such as Facebook, Google, Disney, Yahoo, and Zynga. As Director of Product, you are the engine behind the products that serve and give value to these companies—and for this, you need to be exceptional. We expect you to understand the industry, translate ideas into strategy and features, and lead product development from start to finish.
Before we dive into day-to-day responsibilities, it’s important to know that we’re looking for someone who is a true leader. Someone who can take a new product and manage the entire process from concept to user feedback—and then do it all over again.
Working for a start-up means you get to “get your hands dirty” and learn anything about everything—whether you want a better understanding of coding, biz dev, data sets or building a company from the ground up, any of the Mavens are happy to help you out in their areas of expertise.
You also get to work with the best of the best companies in the world and learn about their business and structure. You will be able to concretely see your contributions and the impact of your work, both internally and externally.
And you will join the Maven family. We’re obsessed with each other. We would do anything for each other. We embody the ethos of work hard, play hard. We blast music in the office and spend some portion of the week destroying each other in Mortal Kombat. We meet each other’s families, walk each other’s dogs, and at least once a month go out and eat, drink, and laugh ’til it hurts. We don’t have “work personalities” and “real life personalities”—we’re genuine to a fault and we embrace your weirdness.
StoreMaven is a start-up, both in size and in mentality. You need to be incredibly independent and self-motivated. You should be able to make your own task list, to take initiative, and to isolate your weaker areas and work to overcome them.
We don’t do well with massive egos or hierarchy. We all learn a great deal from each other regardless of title, department, age, or experience.
We love what we do, which makes it a whole lot easier to excel—Mavens don’t quit, don’t give up, don’t accept mediocrity in themselves or others. If you want to be passionate about what you do and be proud of things you create… keep reading.
